What can the AdCast system do?
The ways in which the AdCast system is used to work for you is endless. You are now able to deliver messages to mobile phones free of charge. You can use the AdCast system to deliver SMS like messages with no limit on the length of the message. How does the AdCast system work?
AdCast will scan the airwaves for Bluetooth® enabled mobile phones continuously. Once a mobile phone with Bluetooth® switch on is found, the AdCast system will then prompt the mobile phone asking the user he/she would like to receive your data. In that prompt your name will also appear. If the user of the phone accepts your data then a file of your choice is downloaded to the phone.

Can I change the content to be send myself?
Anytime, yes. The easy to use AdCast system will allow to create your own content or even select content from external sources. To schedule content, is as easy as choosing a date and time to start, select your file and your done.

Can I install AdCast on the PC I use from day to day?
Yes. AdCast runs on Windows and can be installed on your normal PC and will run in the background, allowing you to continue to carry on with business as usual.

How difficult is it you install AdCast?
The AdCast installation is a very simple process of installing the software and naming the AdCast Bluetooth® aerial. Just a couple of clicks and you are done. With your software you will get an installation guide to help you through the process.

Does it cost to send or receive messages?
No. AdCast uses Bluetooth® technology, surfing the airwaves and there is no cost for sending or receiving messages. Neither you nor your customers can or will get charged for using Bluetooth® to communicate.

Can I send SMS to mobile phones via a mobile network?
No. AdCast uses Bluetooth® and not the mobile phone network to send files. Besides the fact that the use of Bluetooth® is FREE it also means that you are able to even send files if there is no mobile network signal.

What is Bluetooth® and how does it work?
Bluetooth® is a short range, industry standard wireless technology that facilitates communication between wireless devices such as mobile phones, PDAs (personal digital assistants) and handheld computers, and wireless enabled laptop or desktop computers and peripherals. Bluetooth® devices can communicate up to distances of 100 meters.

What if an customer doesn't want my content I send stored on their phone?
Bluetooth® is an opt-in protocol, this means that every time you send content, your customer will be asked if he/she would like to receive it. Your customers also have the option to opt-out or say no. This kind of technology respects your customers privacy and choice.

Will my customer receive 'spam' from the AdCast system?
NO, absolutely not. The AdCast system has build in 'spam' protection. Any content that you send out to your customers will only be received once. If your customer has opted-out to content you have sent, the AdCast system will not send the same content again.

How do Bluetooth® devices communicate?
Bluetooth® is basically a tiny radio transmitter and receiver embedded into an electronic device. When a Bluetooth® device [for example, a phone] wants to 'talk' to another device [for example, a computer] it simply broadcasts a radio signal which is received by the other unit.

What frequency does Bluetooth® operate at?
Bluetooth® is a world standard which operates at a frequency of 2.45 Gigahertz – this band is referred to as ISM [Industrial, Scientific and Medical].

Does Bluetooth® interfere with other equipment?
No, Bluetooth® delivers a low-power 'tagged' signal which is specifically designed to avoid interfering with other equipment, making Bluetooth® an easy-to-adopt technology.

Is Bluetooth® dangerous?
The low power and high frequency of the ISM band means there are no negative effects of prolonged exposure. The International Telecommunication Union specifically chose this band because it is has no effect on humans [or anything else for that matter].

What do I need to run the AdCast system?
AdCast runs best using Windows XP Service Pack 2. You need a Pentium 3 PC with 512 MB RAM and 50MB HDD space.

What type of content can I send with AdCast?
With AdCast you can send text files, vCard files or electronic business cards, vCal files or electronic calendar evnts, still images as JPG files, animated images as GIF files, audio clips and ringtones as WAV or MIDI files and video clips as 3GP files.

Is it electronic junk mail?
No. AdCast only works if the customer turns on their Bluetooth®, makes it 'discoverable' and elects to receive the content. If at any point the customer says no, the content is not sent.

Does AdCast track the content send and to which customers?
Yes, AdCast does. This means that if a customer has opted-in and received your content, AdCast knows that the customer have received it and therefore the next time the customer comes into range they will be ignored for the content already received. AdCast will send new content loaded since the last time your customer was in range. This means you do not keep sending the same content to the same people.

What is the range of AdCast?
AdCast uses a Bluetooth® Class 1 aerial which has a radius of up to 100 meters in open area, if you have many obsticals in the way the distance maybe effected to some degree.
